The Jodhpur Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Court on Wednesday convicted self-styled godman Asaram of raping a minor teenager in 2013. The verdict was announced by judge Madhusudan Sharma from the Jodhpur Central Jail where Asaram is currently lodged.

Of the five accused, three including Asaram were convicted and two were acquitted.

He has been convicted under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) act.
