Gurugram: Four nurses tested coronavirus positive in Gurugram city on Saturday, an official said.
The nurses are working in different private hospitals, said Dr Ram Prakash Jha, a member of the Covid-19 team in Gurugram.
Sources said the nurses caught the infection during treatment of COVID-19 patients. They have since been admitted in isolation wards of the hospitals where they are employed. Their family members have been asked to home-quarantine.
“Two nurses are residents of Sector 31 and two of Sector 39. The latter locality was already declared a containment zone whereas Sector 31 was declared so on Saturday. These two areas are now totally sealed with barricades and deployment of additional police force,” he said. Gurugram now has 25 containment zones.
Sector 31 is near Jharsa village, where three corona patients were found.
With this, the total positive cases in Gurugram has reached 51. Officials said that 35 persons had since been cured and discharged from hospitals.
In another development, the Gurugram district administration brought back 70 students and 10 parents from educational hub Kota in Rajasthan on Saturday. Two Haryana Roadways buses were used for the purpose.
“We have quarantined them in the SCERT complex for 21 days. We will send their samples for corona tests,” said Dr JS Punia, Civil Surgeon, Gurugram.
