Known for courting controversies, BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj on Friday said that if Delhi’s Jama Masjid was razed, idols of Hindu dieties would come out.

“I not backing out from my statement made many years ago in Mathura. If this (spotting of idols of Hindu dieties) does not prove to be true then you can hang me”, BJP MP said while addressing a gathering in Unnao.

He further said that during the Mughal regime, temples were razed to ground and Mosques were constructed instead.

Speaking on Ram Temple issue, Sakshi said that the Supreme Court was lingering the Ayodhya matter. He said that in several other matters, Supreme Court gave verdicts even when those issues were of less significance. He said that the construction of Ram Temple would commence before Lok Sabha elections of 2019.

“I except Modi government to pass a law in Lok Sabha for paving way for construction of grand Ram Temple In Ayodhya. I expect that the construction of the temple will commence before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Infact the construction will commence before elections. I am sure about it”, said Sakshi.

He further said that if the construction of Ram Temple will not begin now, it will never happen in future. “Therefore, there is no way left now except that either a law is passed in the LS or else the land in Ayodhya which was acquired by former PM Narshima Rao should be given back to Ram Janmbhoomi Nyas for temple construction”, he added.
