To avoid accidental spread of COVID-19 virus, Kanpur zoo has been closed down for visitors till March 23.
A decision in this regard was taken by the administration of Kanpur zoo on Monday.
Director, Kanpur zoo, Sunil Chaudhary said that a meeting regarding COVID-19 was called on Monday in which administrative and Vet officials decided to close down zoo for visitors till March 23.
Senior zoo vet, Dr RK Singh told English Post that this decision was taken to contain the spread of deadly Coronavirus as a large number of visitors arrive here everyday.
He said that the decision has been taken in the public interest.
