New Delhi :  The Congress on Monday demanded a probe into the murder of dreaded gangster Munna Bajrangi inside a high security prison in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, asking if any place was secure under rule of BJP government.

Talking to reporters here, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said 10 bullets were pumped into the gangster in the high-security jail and the incident happened despite his wife raising the issue of his security a week back at a press conference in Lucknow.

He asked if it was a coincidence that the gangster reached Baghpat jail a few days before his killing.

“Is there any place which is left secure under BJP government. Home is not secure, road is not secure… How did a pistol enter the high security zone. Who allowed it. Is it a new way of instant justice. This is a matter for a probe,” he said.

Asked if there was a conspiracy, Tiwari said the issue should not be seen only as a murder and all aspects should be probed.

Bajrangi, 51, was shot 10 times in the head and chest from close range with a sophisticated handgun and his body was then dumped into a gutter inside the prison premises, according to police officials.
