Four B.Tech students allegedly gangrape minor girl, two nabbed

KANPUR : Four youths pursuing B.Tech from CSJM university allegedly gangraped a minor girl in an apartment in Kakadeo area of the city on Tuesday. While two accused have been arrested, two other are on the run. Police after registering a case, have started their investigation.
According to police, the girl was first lured by the youths on some pretext and then taken to the apartment situated in Geeta Nagar of Kakadeo locality where they took turns to rape her.
The girl, a student of class XI at a local school, alleged that she was held hostage in a flat for several hours. She also said that she was threatened with dire consequences and brutally assaulted before the youths gangraped her. She narrated the ordeal to her parents who then approached Kakadeo police and got an FIR registered against four youths.
SP West Sanjiv Suman told mediapersons that a case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO (Prevention of Child from Sexual Offences) Act has been registered at Kakadeo police station and two of the four accused have been arrested. He said that a team has been formed to nab the two other absconding accused.
The survivor told police that she had gone to college with her friend when their common friend Anurag won over her confidence and took her to an apartment in Geeta Nagar. “When she reached there she found three other youths, identified as Abhishek, Jacky and Shubham already present there who according to her gang-raped her”, a police official said quoting the survivor.
When she resisted they threatened her of dire consequences and brutally assaulted her too, survivor said. Later, the accused fled from the spot. On returning home, the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents who then lodged a complaint with the police.
