Kamal Nath to be next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath will be the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. News agency ANI reported that Kamal Nath will be the CM of Madhya Pradesh and there will be no Deputy Chief Minister in the state.

Kamal Nath who is chief of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) was announced as the Chief Minister of the state, late on Thursday night.

It will be for the first time in hisĀ over 40 year longĀ political career that Kamal Nath would become the Chief Minister. He is a nine-time MP from Chhindwara constituency of Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress will be forming government in the state with the support of SP, BSP and Independents. While Congress has 114 legislators in 230 member assembly, BSP has two, SP one and four seats were won by independents.

Congress got victory in Madhya Pradesh after unseating BJP which was in power for last 15 years. Shivraj Singh Chouhan ruled the state for three consecutive terms.
