Domicile Certificate issued in the name of terrorist ‘Ajmal Kasab’ in UP

Ajmal Kasab, the 26/11 Mumbai attack convict has been issued a domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh. Courtesy – Auraiya district administration. Kasab was hanged in Yerwada jail in Pune on November 21 in 2012.
Taking serious note of this development, the senior district authorities have cancelled the domicile certificate and suspended the concerned Lekhpal (Revenue Officer). Also a probe has been ordered into the serious matter, reported The Times of India.
As per details, Ajmal Kasab’s birth place has been mentioned as Bidhoona and his father’s name mentioned is Mohd Amir. The certificate bears registration number 181620020060722.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bidhoona, Pravendra Kumar confirmed to TOI that a domicile certificate of Ajmal Kasab had been issued against the submission of fake documents given by some unidentified person.
He said that for seeking domicile certificate, the person had submitted an application with a photo of terrorist Ajmal Kasab in October. The application was submitted with the officials at Bidhoona Tehsil of the district who did not cross-check and issued the domicile certificate on October 21, he told the daily.
The official said that a probe has been ordered into the serious matter. Also the concerned Lekhpal has been suspended.
