ICC Women’s World T20 : India beat arch rivals Pakistan by 7 wickets

India registered a concrete 7-wicket victory over arch rivals Pakistan in Women’s World T20 played on Sunday. This was India’s second successive victory in the 2018 Women’s World T20 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Mithali Raj who batted well and scored 56 runs along with Smriti Mandhana (26) led India from the front and ensured team’s victory.




Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur after winning the toss, elected to field first against Pakistan. The decision worked out well as team India defeated rivals by losing just three wickets. Pakistan lost early wickets yet they managed to score 133 runs.

Pakistan lost Ayesha Zafar for zero and Omaima Sohail made just three runs. Javeria Khan scored just 17 runs.

A decent partnership of 94 runs between Bismah Maroof (54) and Nida Dar (52), helped Pakistan put 133 runs on board which team India chased easily.

Poonam Yadav was most successful bowler for India. She claimed two wickets for 23.

India will next face Ireland on Thursday.
