Class 12 student gang-raped in Jind, accused dumped her into pond before escaping

Six men executed horrifying crime of allegedly abducting and gang-raping a class 12 girl student and then throwing her in a pond after gagging her and tying her hands. The shocking incident took place on Saturday in Jind district of Haryana. The police have managed to arrest all the six accused and registered a case against them under relevant sections of IPC.




According to media reports two of the accused abducted the victim while she was asleep and took her to a secluded place in a field where they gangraped her. Four men who were already present on the spot molested the girl and attempted rape on her, the police said.

When the girl shouted for help, the accused tied her hands and gagged her. They then threw her in a pond in a bid to kill her, police said.

“But she was saved as her shreiks were heard by her relatives who were looking for me. The incident took place very close to the victim’s house. Initially the accused managed to run away but later all of them were arrested”, a senior police officer said.

The accused have been identified by police as Deepak, Praveen, Kapil, Sanjeev, Chhotu and Naseeb. While police have booked Deepak and Praveen for raping the girl, the other four have been booked for molesting her.




Hindustan Times quoted DSP Pushpa Khatri as saying, “All six accused have been arrested and produced in court that sent them in judicial custody on Sunday. The medical examination of the victim has been conducted which has indicated the possibility of rape. Further samples have been sent to the police forensic lab in Madhuban and the reports are awaited.”
