Two terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in J&K’s Anantnag
Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu & Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
News agency ANI reported that two terrorists have been gunned down in encounter which started in Anantnag this morning. Agency also reported that the encounter has concluded and the combing operation is underway.

Acting on a special information the security forces had surrounded Kotwal Mohalla in Anantnag in early hours of Wednesday. Security forces had received intelligence inputs about the presence of two Lashkar-e-Taiha (LeT) militants hiding in the area.
News agency IANS quoted a police officer as saying “As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired at the security forces. Evacuation of civilians was started before launching assault on the hiding militants.”
“We have recovered two bodies of militants from the encounter site. Firing has stopped, but searches are still going on. Identification will follow,” a police officer told IANS.
