Bhaiyyuji Maharaj shoots himself dead at Indore residence

Indore : Bhaiyyuji Maharaj, a Madhya Pradesh based spiritual guru allegedly shot himself dead at his residence in Silver Springs in Indore on Tuesday leaving thousands of his followers shocked. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said he was dead.

आध्यात्मिक गुरु श्री भय्यूजी महाराज यांच्या निधनाची दु:खद बातमी कळली. त्यांच्याशी माझे व्यक्तिगत जिव्हाळ्याचे संबंध होते. त्यांचा हा अकाली मृत्यु मनाला चटका लावणारा आहे. माझी विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि.

He was rushed to a private hospital here in a critical condition where doctors declared him brought dead.

“Bhaiyyuji Maharaj has shot himself at his residence at Khandwa Road here,” Indore’s Deputy Inspector General Harinarayanachari Mishra said.

The reason behind the attempted suicide is not known, he said.

“Got to know about the sad demise of religious guru Bhaiyyuji Maharaj. I was having personal relations with him. I am saddened by his sudden demise. My tributes,” Gadkari tweeted.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid tribute to Bhayyuji Maharaj and expressed his condolence.

The spiritual leader was very famous among masses in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra due to his social works. His original name is Uday Singh Deshmukh and is popularly known by his disciples as ‘Bhaiyyuji Maharaj’.
