Petrol and diesel prices cut by just 1 paise per litre

After 16 days of hike, petrol and diesel prices were cut by a marginal 1 paise per litre each in Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday.
Earlier in the morning, IOCL website showed that the petrol price was less by 60 paise in New Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai. But soon the prices were revised. The happiness which the people received was thus, short-lived.
According to NEWS AGENCY ANI, Indian Oil Corporation corrects earlier figures, petrol prices went down not by 60 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai but by just 1 paise. Diesel prices also went down by just 1 paise instead of 56 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai.

In a statement issued IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) said that the reduction was supposed to be 1 Paisa but due to error the price prevalent on May 25 was communicated as today’s price.
This was for the first time in 16 days that the prices have been cut since May 14.
