Soon former UP Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati would be shifting into a new house which she had purchased for Rs 15 crore in 2010. This would happen following a Supreme Court order that the former UP Chief Ministers must vacate their government accomodation.

However, the new house where Mayawati would be shifting is at a stone throw distance from her current place of residence, 13-A Mall Avenue government residence. Her new address would be The 9, Mall Avenue property.

The new accomodation for Mayawati is being readied. Her bungalow is spread in a sprawling area of more than 70,000 square feet and had been purchased by her after she came into power in Uttar Pradesh in 2007.

According to a TOI report, BSP functionaries close to Mayawati said that the shifting from the government accomodation to the new residence began soon after the estate department served eviction notice on Mayawati’s residence on Friday last.

TOI quoted an affidavit filed by Mayawati at the time of filing of her nomination for Rajya Sabha Polls in 2012 that the bungalow at 9 Mall Avenue was purchased by her on November 3 in 2010 at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore.
