Dust and thunder storm hits North India, flights affected at Delhi airport

Weather underwent a major change in North India on Sunday evening affecting the flight operations. Dust and thunder storm hit several states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana.

 Flight operations were put on hold at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport due to thunderstorm, News Agency ANI reported.

ANI also reported that more than 40 flight diversions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport as bad weather conditions continue in the region.

 Several flights were diverted to other airports near Delhi to avoid the storm. Metro services in Delhi were restored after 30 minutes following dust storm and rains.

 The dust storm however, brought relief from scorching heat. Agra had recorded a maximum temperature of 45 degrees, making it the hottest day of the season. The Gusty winds of speed 100 km/hour blew across Delhi and its neighbouring areas.
