Death penalty awarded to man for raping and murdering a 4-month-old girl
The Indore district court on Saturday awarded death sentence to a man who had raped and murdered a 4-month-old girl. The shocking incident had taken place in Indore on April 20. The man who has been convicted is girl’s uncle and was noticed on CCTV camera carrying the girl before commiting the henious crime.

The blood soaked body of the girl was recovered from the basement with injury marks on her private parts and head. The court had convicted the man after finding him guilty under various sections of IPC including POCSO Act. The incident had shamed the nation and it had come to light at a time when the country was seething in anger and protesting against Kathua, Unnao and Surat rape cases.
According to media reports, the girl who was sleeping next to her parents when was abducted and raped in the basement of a building. Later, she was killed. The accused was spotted on a CCTV camera carrying the girl on his shoulder. Both the girl’s father and the man convicted of rape used to sell balloons in Indore.
