2 arrested for demanding Rs 1 crore from Kuldeep Sengar’s wife for settling Unnao rape case
Two men were arrested for pretending to be senior CBI officers and for demanding Rs one crore from Sangeeta Sengar, wife of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for ensuring clean chit to her husband in the rape case, reported The Times Of India. Kuldeep was recently shifted to Sitapur jail from Unnao district jail.
While the arrest has been made by Gazipur police, the accused have been identified as Alok Dwivedi of Gosainganj and his aide Vijay Rawat of Deoria. The two have confessed to their crime.
According to Ghazipur police, Alok who is a science graduate from Awadh University did not have a job and wanted to extract money from Sengars keeping in mind the current situation that MLA is lodged in jail in the rape case.
“MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s wife, Sangeeta Singh lodged a case on Wednesday stating that two persons called her and demanded Rs one crore to give MLA a clean chit in the rape case”, The Times Of India quoted Ghazipur SHO Sujeet Kumar Rai as saying.
He added that the two men have been arrested. He also said that Alok Dwivedi first had introduced himself as a senior BJP leader and later as a CBI officer.
