Gurugram : Four men have been arrested on charges of firing outside a shop in Farukhnagar town and later demanding Rs 50 lakh from its owner, Gurugram Police said on Monday.

Accused Rahul, Vijay alias Pankaj, and Mannu from different villages in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, were arrested on Sunday by a Farukhnagar Crime Branch team led by Suresh Kumar. The fourth accused Paramjeet was arrested from Juraula village near Farukhnagar on Monday.

Police said the accused had opened fire outside Radhe Sweets in Farukhnagar on April 17 and demanded Rs 50 lakh from its owner on April 24.

“They did so at the behest of gangster Sandeep Duma, who is yet to be arrested. The three accused from Meerut, currently living in Gurugram, have been sent in police remand and are being interrogated. Paramjeet will be presented in court later,” a senior police officer said.
