Owner killed in Delhi factory fire, two employees hospitalised

New Delhi :  A businessman was killed and his two employees taken ill on Tuesday when they inhaled smoke from a fire that broke out in a nail polish factory in west Delhi, a fire officer said.

The Delhi Fire Services control room was called around 4.15 p.m. about the blaze that broke out in a three-storey factory in Mangolpuri. Eight fire tenders doused the flames around 5.30 p.m.

Deceased Rajesh Gulati, 45, was a resident of Mianwali Nagar and owned Shiva Cosmetics company along with his father, Deputy Commissioner of Police M.N. Tiwari said.

The two employees taken ill were Chandan, 41 and Lalit Kumar, 40.

A case of causing death by negligence has been registered, the officer added.

All the three men were present on the second floor when the fire broke out. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where Gulati was declared brought dead, the officer added.
