Case Filed Against Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi Over Alleged Remarks Against PM Modi

MAHOBA | An FIR registered against Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi has triggered political controversy in Mahoba. The case was lodged at Kotwali Nagar police station following a complaint filed by BJP district media in-charge Satyendra Pratap Gupta.

According to the complaint, the MP and his supporters allegedly staged an unauthorised protest and laid siege to the collectorate premises, causing major traffic disruption. The complainant also accused the MP of making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per the FIR, the incident took place on May 11 between 12 noon and 1 p.m. Gupta alleged that Ajendra Singh Lodhi, the MP from the Hamirpur-Mahoba-Tindwari constituency, marched along with his supporters from Ramkund Temple to the collectorate while carrying a memorandum related to electricity department issues. During the protest, the group allegedly blocked traffic and disrupted normal functioning in the area, causing inconvenience to both the public and government employees.

The complaint further stated that the protest created chaos at the collectorate for nearly an hour. Citizens who had arrived to address official matters reportedly faced delays, while administrative work was also affected. During an interaction with the media, the MP allegedly made objectionable and offensive remarks against the Prime Minister. The complainant claimed that Lodhi referred to the Prime Minister as “anti-national,” hurting public sentiments and potentially creating social and caste-based tension.

Police have registered the case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, including Sections 132, 189(2), 352, and 196(1). The investigation has been assigned to Sub-Inspector Shivam Pandey. The FIR was officially registered at Kotwali Nagar police station in Mahoba at 2:05 a.m. on May 12.

Apart from Ajendra Singh Lodhi, the FIR also mentions several unidentified supporters. Police are now examining video footage, witness statements, and other evidence related to the incident.
