Under Operation Shakti campaign, Nagpur Police have busted a sex racket running inside a hotel located near Bahadura Phata on Umred Road (Nagpur). Crime Branch’s Social Security Department (SSD) team arrested a woman agent from the spot and rescued a minor girl from her custody.
According to police, the arrested woman, a resident of Sharda Layout in Khairi, used to lure minor girls with money and push them into prostitution. The SSD team received information about suspicious activities at the hotel following which a raid was conducted.
During the raid, police seized ₹2,900 in cash, a mobile phone, the hotel’s DVR and other objectionable material — amounting to a total of ₹20,930. The accused has been handed over to the Hudkeshwar Police Station for further action.
Police are now investigating the involvement of the hotel management, potential customers, and other individuals associated with the racket.
