Actress Farrukh Jaffar who acted in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, passes away at the age of 88

Senior Bollywood actress Farrukh Jaffar passed away in Lucknow on Friday evening. She was 88.
She had worked with actor Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. She had played the role of Amitabh’s wife -Fatima Begum in this film.
Shaaz Ahmad, grandson of Farrukh Jaffar took to Twitter to share the sad news. He wrote, “My grandmother and wife of Freedom fighter, Ex MLC Mr S.M.Jaffar and Veteran Actress Mrs Farrukh Jaffar passed away today at 7 pm in Lucknow.”

Farrukh, according to media reports was unwell for past sometime and was admitted to Lucknow’s Sahara hospital at the beginning of this month. But she could not recover and breathed her last at the hospital on Friday.
She had acted in films like ‘Swades’, ‘Peepli Live’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ among others.
