Three weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) was followed by The White House on Twitter, the same official account has now unfollowed all of them.

PM Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) and President Ram Nath Kovind (@rashtrapatibhvn) had become the only world leaders who had been followed by The White House on Twitter.

The White House now follows only 13 verified Twitter handles and has 22 million followers.

The White House has also unfollowed the US Embassy in Washington and Indian Embassy in New Delhi.

Earlier, this month, US President Donald Trump had reacted on India’s decision to ban export of Hydroxychloroquine. His comments were interpreted as threat to India.

But India had decided to partially lift ban on export of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and had supplied this drug to many countries including the US, which are fighting war against Coronavirus. Trump had then thanked PM Modi for taking this decision.

Through a tweet on April 8, Trump had lauded India’s gesture.

“Extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends. Thank you India and the Indian people for the decision on HCQ. Will not be forgotten! Thank you Prime Minister @NarendraModi for your strong leadership in helping not just India, but humanity, in this fight!”

White House is official residence of President of United States Of America.
