Chennai: Eight Ethiopians were arrested for violating visa norms here, said police.
“The eight Ethiopians – four men and four women – arrived last month. They first landed in Delhi and from there travelled to Chennai. While in Chennai they were involved in preaching activity which is against the visa norms,” a police official told IANS.
According to police, the Ethiopians did not attend the Tablighi Jamaat organised conference in Delhi.
“They were tested for coronavirus infection at a government hospital here and found not infected. They were staying in a mosque in Mannadi here,” police said.
