New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia on Friday took a dig at BJP for being scared of films, songs and even education, adding it is disgraceful to see people getting intimidated by films based on a social issue.
Sisodia was commenting about various BJP leaders announcing that they will boycott the Deepika Padukone-starrer “Chhapaak”, based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, which was released on Friday.
“They are free to not watch any film if they don’t want to. Who is stopping them? But they are being scared of a film made on an acid attack victim,” he told media.
He said he has not watched the film but will go for sure if he gets time and will also take his children for it.
Sisodia said what kind of a political party is the BJP if they are easily intimidated by and fear certain films that invoke a sense of social responsibilities among people.
“You are scared of films, songs, and even education. what type of party are you?” he asked
He added it is “highly disgraceful” to see people getting intimidated by films based on a social issue.
