New Delhi, Jan 28 : British-Indian record producer Bally Sagoo says he loves the 1980s and 1990s era because he believes that was the time when there was not much in the name of technology and artistes were hungry to go out, perform and travel around.

“I’ve been in the industry for a few decades. Honestly speaking, I really love the 80s and 90s. I think that was a much better time regards to the music because it was pretty much time for everything to come out and pretty much out to be born,” Sagoo told IANS.

The artiste, whose real name is Baljit Singh Sagoo, is best known his re-worked version of “Chura liya hai tumne”, as well as for his hits like “Gur nalon ishq mitha”, “Dil cheez” and “Tum bin”.

Sagoo says earlier musicians did not have many platforms and they would ride on the success of their music, instead of on the basis of how many followers they had on social media or how they looked in a video.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to be the inceptor and be the forefront of it. It was more exciting because we didn’t have so much technology and we were more hungry to go out and perform, travel around and let people hear our talent and the music we were making.

“For me, there was a lot more happening in the era. We didn’t have any social media, we didn’t have any platforms that one gets out today,” said the 53-year-old artiste.
