11 injured in blast inside moving passenger train in Assam’s Udalguri

Guwahati : At least 11 persons were injured in an explosion inside Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express in Udalguri, news agency ANI reported. The explosion took place in the running train at around 6.45 pm, the agency reported further.

News agency IANS quoted officials as saying that the blast took place on a moving passenger train at Assam’s Harisinga station on Saturday.
A senior railway official said the blast occured in Rangiya-Dekargaon passenger train at Harisinga station of Rangiya division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

The official said as of now no casualties have been reported. “The train is cuurently detained at Harisinga station,” said an NFR official.
Investigation is underway to ascertain if it was a bomb, ANI reported.
