Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya accused of sexual harassment, he refutes claim

India’s very own #MeToo movement has gained momentum. The latest name to have cropped up in the #MeToo firestorm is of Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

A Facebook user who goes by the name Bodhisattva YaMyoho has accused Abhijeet of sexually harassing her at a hotel in Kolkata in 1998.

Bodhisattva in her FB post wrote that Bhattacharya grabbed her by her wrist and pulled her closer on her refusal to dance or get intimate with him.

Bodhisattva, a former flight attendant, further wrote that Abhijeet screamed in her ear, ‘bitch what do you think of yourself, wait till I teach you a lesson’ , almost kissing and nibbling me on my left ear.. I pushed him back and ran to the DJ console to get him to shut the music down.

She further wrote that since the hotel knew her well and backed her up Abhijeet was banned from visiting the hotel…

Abhijeet has denied the accusations.

TimesNowNews.Com quoted Abhijeet as saying “I have not gone to any pub for last 20 years. You are talking about a case of 1998. You think I will remember ? Please don’t do all these things. The only thing I have to say is, I have never been to a pub in the last 20 years.”
