As fuel prices are on a steep rise on a daily basis, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has said that if government allows, he can sell petrol and diesel for just Rs 35-45 a litre.

Speaking at ‘NDTV Yuva’ conclave on Sunday, Ramdev said, “If government allows me and gives me some tax relief, I can give petrol and Diesel to country at Rs 35-45 per litre.”

He called for bringing petrol and Diesel under GST. He said that the petrol and diesel should be brought under lowest tax slab of GST so that people could get huge relief.

He further said that India will not stop functioning if there will be revenue loss. He added that the revenue losses could be recovered by taxing rich people more.

Ramdev raised questions over the government’s reluctance to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel prices.

Government earns a huge revenue by taxing petrol and diesel and ever since the fuel prices are witnessing a steep rise, the demand for bringing it under GST has gained momentum.
